Innovations at the School: Where Young Minds Create

At Kendriya Vidyalaya NHPC Singtam, learning goes beyond textbooks. In line with NEP 2020’s focus on experiential and art-integrated learning, our students regularly turn classroom ideas into creative projects. The recent work shown here reflects their imagination, skill, and understanding of the world around them.

    Poster: India’s Journey of Progress

One student made a detailed poster on India’s development since Independence. At its centre is the Indian map held in caring hands, and around it are panels on railways, postal services, electricity, Digital India, economic growth, high-speed rail, housing, gender equality, space missions and women’s empowerment. The poster shows real research, careful planning of the layout, and pride in the nation’s achievements. It is a fine example of combining social science with visual art.

    👕 Fabric Painting: Lord Mahavir

Blending art with cultural heritage, a student hand-painted a portrait of Lord Mahavir in meditation on a plain white T-shirt. The halo, the calm expression, and the bold lettering show patience and a steady hand. The activity helped students connect with India’s spiritual traditions and values such as non-violence (ahimsa) and compassion, while learning a practical craft that turns everyday objects into art.

🏘️ 3D Model: Family and Community

A young learner built a colourful 3D model of a neighbourhood with a school, hospital, market, park, and roads. It also features cut-out figures of family members and community helpers such as a doctor, a police officer and a gardener. Through this hands-on project, the student explored how a community functions and how each person contributes to it, bringing an EVS concept to life.

    Why It Matters

    Activities like these help students:

    • Think creatively and express ideas in original ways
    • Connect subjects such as Social Science, EVS, Art and Values
    • Build practical skills like planning, designing, and crafting
    • Gain confidence by presenting their own work

The Vidyalaya remains committed to giving every child room to explore, experiment and innovate, because today’s small creations shape tomorrow’s big ideas.
